A jet boat is a boat propelled forward by a jet of water ejected from the back of the watercraft. It is unlike the power boat (also called a motor boat) that uses a rotating propeller located below or behind the watercraft. a jet boat pulls in water from under the boat into a pump inside the boat, then expels it through a pressurized nozzle at the stern. the pressurized stream of water creates thrust for the watercraft. The biggest advantage over a propeller driven boat is the lack of a moving propeller outside the vessel. This allows for safe operation in shallow waters. The jet boat is also very maneuverable. This is a fantastic feature for those of us with some bounce in our step. The jet boat is reliable water transportation and pure fun at the same time.

Today's most popular jet boats are manufactured by Seadoo and Yamaha. These three seat and four seat jet boats have breathe life back into the jet boat industry. The more roomy and stable jet boats entice those not always willing to strap on a jet ski. The reliability, speed, maneuverability, and comfort of these watercraft make them more attractive than jet skis and more inviting than a standard boat with an outboard.
